Neurovirus on Cruise Ship Ovation of the Seas
The neurovirus that sickened over 300 passengers on the Ovation of the Seas is unfortunately a common type of circumstance when you pack so many people in a confined space. Cruise lines certainly know of the risk of the potential spread of any type of contagion in the cruise ship environment, and must take extra precautions, and be more proactive, in preventing this type of occurrence. While there is no strict liability standard owed from a ship to passengers, they must act reasonably considering the potential spread of such a disease in such a confined space.
